As far as hungry and under-nourished children are concerned, maybe we should all do what my wife and I do, donate to charities who are efficient at getting resources to those who really need it.
I am amazed that in so many important aspects of life in the USA that "Charity" is the answer yet a decent welfare system is looked down on.
Whenever the word Welfare System are mentioned i hear the right wing going into spasm and screaming about how they don't want to pay their tax Dollar for Lazy Bums etc. but they don't scream about their Tax Dollar paying for the welfare of Iraqi's or going to help the poor in Africa, Middle East etc etc. As far as the right are concerned.... American Citizens who need help should get to the back of the line........... NO excuses and DISGUSTING!

There's a big difference, one is forced and one is voluntary. Many members of the "Tea Party" are libertarian and believe that the government shouldn't force anyone to contribute to another person. Also, many fiscal conservatives don't believe that government is the most efficient means of getting assistance to those who need it.
As far as other needy people are concerned, why are American needy more deserving of help than African needy?

15 pages of nonsense.

the Tea Party plan for child hunger is to improve the American economy to the point that everyone who wants a good job has one... that will end child hunger as we know it.

I would also like to say this thread is further evidence of the difference between liberalism and conservatism.

Liberals look for little cuts and bandaid them then crow about their own compassion (no need to point out liberals are stealing the bandaids they use).

Conservatives see little cuts and start looking for the cause to insure further damage does not occur....
