And that is all Obama can do - endorse. Only Congress has the authority to limit mail service, and it does not look like it will happen.

See H.Res. 137 : "Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States Postal Service should take all appropriate measures to ensure the continuation of its 6-day mail delivery service."

Introduced by Rep. Sam Graves (MO-6) on March 2, 2011, and it currently has 197 cosponsors.

From an idealism standpoint I am not a fan of government-sanctioned monopolies, however from a realism standpoint if the USPS could devise a plan to make itself profitable, I would be more than OK with that.
