What do the Portuguese & Spanish speakers share besides Romance language?
Virtually nothing.
That's not entirely true in Europe. Many traditions overlap, or are very similar... bull fighting can be (could be) found in Portugal and Spain, Flamenco, etc.
Another important question is what do Argentinians and Mexicans have in common? And what is in common with either with Dominicans?

And France as well.

Saw plenty of homely, wouldn't wanna touch it with a ten foot pole busted lookin people in the Mayan Riviera a couple months ago to note that every country has its share of beauties and beasts.
The poster was making a point that a lot of white Americans think that only people of British ancestry are "properly white" everyone else is less white. Another poster also said that those same people consider non-Nordic people not white.

I agree. That was stupid, and another thing that is equally as stupid is one of the proposed solutions by the cultural relativists. That being to brown everyone on the planet.

What about the term Afro-Americans? That clearly applies to any blacks in the Americas
The ONLY people in the world that think Americans applies to anyone on both North and South America are the Spaniards. Even then, in that country, estadounidense is falling out of favor because it's too long a word with too many syllables. Almost all Latin Americans call people from the U.S. American/americano. Even in England, where English comes from, they always call the U.S. 'America' even on the very liberal BBC. When they talk about Canada, they don't say America, they say Canada.

No doubt. Some places have more beasts, even proportionally, than others though. I've seen enough hot women in PR, Mexico, DR, Brazil, Arg, etc. to feel secure in my love for them.

Never met anyone with such an extreme view of "whiteness."
I guess a question is... why do you lose your whiteness if you are mixed with anything else.... but never lose that "anything else" if mixed with white?
This attitude of course developed from colonial times... but even knowing the bizarre history behind it, both white AND "non-white" people STILL advance it!
Are white people the paint primer equivalent of the genetic pool, lol?
Odd, I listen to the BBC a lot, and often hear them say US or USA. Must be a different BBC you listen to
Indeed, colloquially many people say America/Americans, but it is avoided by educated people as to them America is only the continent. On a German news program for instance the word Amerika for the US is unthinkable, either one has to say the whole thing United States of America or the short form United States in German, or use the abbreviation US or USA.
In Portuguese they always say norte-americanos as the US and Canada are basically lumped together or Canada is simply ignored. After all, Canada is very absent from world news, almost like non-existing.
