There is nothing in the Constitution that grants babies born from illegal aliens our birthright citizenship. The wording and intent of the 14 Amendment is very clear. It's just that they have been deemed so by a PC policy only. Would love for the Supreme Court to take up this issue and clarify it once and for all.

It seems like birthright-citizenship is accepted as the law of the land, so Dems really need to do nothing.

Nothing but the plain language of the 14th Amendment.
All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
You’re gonna need a Constitutional amendment. Good luck with that.

(Cue the hue and cry about how Wong Kim Ark is all wrong.... I’ll just get some real work done while y’all fire that up.)

Your clue is "and" subject to the jurisdiction. That is a qualifier to birthright citizenship. Illegal aliens are not subject to our full jurisdiction. They are only subject to obey our laws. Won Kim Ark wasn't about parents in our country illegally as they were legally here and permanently domiciled. It was an entirely different case.

Pardon me for intruding, but isn't this just a "simple" matter of amending the US Constitution?

There are 4 ways this could be done. Any such effort, IMHO, should start with the states. A few years back, the GOP controlled the vast majority of the State Governments...I don't remember any such effort. Maybe I am missing something???

"There are actually four ways. (1) Both houses propose an amendment with a two-thirds vote, and three-fourths of the state legislatures approve. Twenty-six of the 27 amendments were approved in this manner. (2) Both houses propose an amendment with a two-thirds vote, and three-fourths of the states approve the amendment via ratifying conventions. Only the 21st Amendment, which repealed Prohibition, was passed in this manner. (3) Two-thirds of the state legislatures call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention, and three-fourths of the state legislatures approve the amendment. (4) Two-thirds of the state legislatures call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention, and three-fourths of the states approve the amendment via ratifying conventions."

Since we know Congress never does anything, #3 and #4 are the Keys.

If it can't be done, it can't be done. Not worth talking about. Just one more Reality TV episode.
