Listen, if somebody's going to be arguing in favor of Christianity, he could at least get the basic data straight. Anyone with a passing familiarity with the Bible knows that "an eye for an eye" is the rassum-frassum Old Testament. The Carpenter's Son was more of a turn-the-other-cheek sort of guy. Which is probably why he said to turn the other cheek. And didn't say anything about an "eye for an eye".

Anyway, you can put up all the pro-religion stuff you care to do - on your own property and your own dime.

very true, jesus did say if someone hits you on your right cheek, turn the other cheek and let him hit that one. HOWEVER, jesus did not say what to do after the person hit the second check. jesus also said to forgive someone who transgressed against you 70 times 7. again he didnt say what to do after that.

as for harassment and threats, i agree.
I have never seen any such sign aside from signs concerning shoes or something pertaining to clothing. I think folks ought to get this straight... a business cannot legally refuse service based on race, religion, national origin, age, a disability, or gender. Atheism is a religious belief. For a florist to state that he won't do business with someone because he doesn't like their religious belief, is a florist who is breaking the law.

The young woman in question should be able to safely take down an additional 489 banners, then.

a business owner has the right to refuse service to anyone. you might want to read the laws to that effect someday. and if a business owner decides to refuse service, they DO NOT have to give a reason.

a business cannot refuse to hire a person based on the things you list above however, and that is where most people get confused.

I never saw where it said the florist refused service because the girl was an atheist. A business CAN refuse service to individuals for whatever personal reason.

BTW, if Atheism is a religion, which presumably believes in "Nothing," why did the Judge rule in favor of the Atheist religion over Christianity, which obviously was done since the Christian Poem was taken down and "Nothing" was left up.

Where are you getting that from ? None of the florists said that ...none.

Here's their replies to the delivery..all they said was that they refuse to deliver.

You're several decades behind in knowledge of the law. Besides federal anti-discrimination law covering businesses open to the public, Rhode Island has its own law that makes it illegal to discriminate against a person because of their religion, among other things. The law covers places of public accommodation such as restaurants, theaters, public transportation, hotels, stores, gyms, hospitals, and any other establishment open to the public.

I don't think the florists violated the law.

Then non-believer's should do the same. Most money given to ACLU is paid for on the taxpayer's dime, some of those are Christians.

The Carpenter's Son also said "Take up the Cross and follow Me". Turn the other cheek, has nothing to do with a banner, that's hung there, since the 60's.

So , if you and other's have your way, we Christian's keep turning the- other-cheek, just enough times, you'll win..........not without, a fight

Google it there's a reason behind the "slap"

This girl received her flowers, all should be happy now. Pretty sure, the ACLU bought them on the taxpayer's dime!!
