Interesting article about Cupp and why she wouldn't vote for an atheist for President. I think most of our atheists would disagree with her. I wonder how many here will ever read this story because of the site it comes from and the fact that Cupp worls for The Blaze.

I believe an atheist elected President wouldn't stay that way long. Just as there are no atheists in a foxhole.

You have no proof of this. I was in the foxhole twice this year and stayed true. My vehicle overturned for a long time and major illness as well.

It's was an MSNBC roundtable regardless of who published it. And she explained her position quite well, making perfect sense. I especially liked “Because I do not think that someone who represents 5 to 10 percent of the population should be representing and thinking that everyone else in the world is crazy, but me,”

Are you are on the Freedom Outpost mailing by any chance?

I'm certain that major illness and bad luck aren't good selling points for atheism. You just gave four very good reasons to rethink the entire gig.

I wouldn't either. Atheists have a habit of attempting to destroy American traditions and rewriting the Constitution.

I can attest to that foxhole statement being a falsehood.

I was near death twice this year a lone and worrying about weather or not I was going to heaven or hell never crossed my mind.

What she obviously doesn't realize is Obama and Romney as with almost all presidents back to Lincoln only care what the 1% want...they don't want whats best for the people they want whats best for their wallets and the wallets of those that help get them elected.

It always seemed to me that the intended point of the foxhole quote only has real validity if all those foxhole dwellers were praying to the same God. But they're not. They're going to pray to whatever God they were exposed to as a young child, so the only thing it really proves is that whatever a child is exposed to makes a terrific imprint.

If you're an American, it's probably Jesus. If you're an Arab, Allah. And so on. If you were Thucidydes it was probably Zeus, but that is hardly an argument for the existence of Zeus.

I've never been in a foxhole but have been 'this close' to getting into a gunfight (guy tried unsuccessfully to rob me). I wasn't thinking about God or religion at all. I was thinking, 'boy I am glad that I took the time to assiduously practice draw and fire at close range.
