That might be. But if gay marriage was really the kind of defining social issue that some are making it out to be, then wouldn't the president have something to say about it in a major speech before the nation? Heck, this might be the last state of union speech he gives.

This is clearly a case of some people making a mountain out of a molehill of an issue.

No, its illegal immigration. I guess a distant second would be maybe the ERA.
