Her actions most definitely hurt her career and her private life. The relationship between her and her father never really recovered from it.
However, she apologized for her actions so IMO, we should forgive her.
Where were you when Kennedy escalated that war so much by sending in more troops? I guess you weren't around back then since it is over 50 years ago.
Actually it was General Westmoreland. It was claimed that he manipulated reports and withheld information from Washington. When he took command (1964) there were 16,000 US troops in Vietnam, four years later when he left (or was removed??) there were 535,000 troops.
jane fonda was a courageous american who acted on her convictions and eventually an entire nation, or a majority of it, agreed that the viet nam war was wrong, and our children were sent to their deaths needlessly. We need more, now fewer, persons such as she.
