Okay, you get HHS to add free viagra for men in there along with the free birth control for women, and then come back and make your arguments. Until then, it's apples and oranges.
A limited number of insurance policies voluntarily offer some coverage for Viagra for men, therefore all insurance policies should be mandated by the government to provide completely free birth control to women?
Sorry, that argument doesn't work.
That wasn't the argument I was trying to make.
The topic here is "recreational activities." My point was that sex by a female is not a recreational activity just as much as sex by a male is not a recreational activity. Insurance companies for Catholic organizations PROVIDE coverage for Viagra. It is not free-there is a copay. Insurance companies for Catholic organizations provide NO coverage for birth control.
The secondary discussion here is that the goverment mandated that not only do they have to now provide birth control coverage but that it must be free.
I'd be happy to get them to just provide the coverage. Period. Because being able to have sexual relations and enjoy sex with your partner without fear of pregnancy is healthy. Just like giving a man access to medication that allows him to achieve an erection so that he can have physical relationships--because it is healthy for him.
So with your logic if you break your leg skiing health insurance shouldn’t cover it? Get out of here!
Are you people really this dense?! Honestly. Since friggin when, was the possibility of getting pregnant a health issue? A sickness/disease? I realize that some of you think the result of pregnancy can sometimes be worth killing, depending on how you feel at the time, but thats a different issue. PREGNANCY IS NOT AN ILLNESS. The act of sex can result in a BABY. We all know this!
Now take some damn personal responsibility or at least for God's sake quit expecting everyone else to pay for it. You want to have sex, PAY FOR IT!!! Youre comparing sex to an injury?!
It all boils down to religion and Viagra is not a Contraceptive which is "banned" by the church. They are also two different things.
Viagra vs. Birth Control is also not a Man vs. Woman thing. Men can buy condoms. That's their contraceptive. Woman use BC pills. Viagara isn't banned by religion so it's not even on table.
Health issue? That's debate able.
Covering Viagra by the taxpayers is not ok.
