FACEBOOk was abuzz with rumors about a suspicious older man driving a silver van who was thought to be stalking local children. It turns out he was just driving around looking at trash for articles to sell. But that led to a case of mistaken identity when an older resident was confronted by two men while taking an evening walk. They ended up wrestling him to the ground breaking his ribs and injuring him while detaining him for the police. Facebook... glad I never bothered with it. Now those two will likely be charged with assault.
The other case... I'm not sure if this received national attention or not. Three young males, truant from school, one black, two hispanic, decided to go on a local recreational trail and mug elderly victims. They did assault two, one got away. Then they encountered the third. They knocked him off his bike and began punching him. He pulled out his weapon and fired two shots. The young black male was killed and the one hsipanic male was shot in the neck. Long story short, no charges were filed against the man and he received overwhelming public support. It was a tragedy but it never took on any kind of race based overtone. It did help the case for allowing citizens to arm and protect themselves.
So you have legitimate self defense and you have vigilanteism where people look for trouble. I think this Zimmerman was looking to start a confrontation and engaged the young man into a fight and then shot him. He'll suffer the consequences and has little chance of getting off the hook. MSNBC is pretty pathetic when it comes to exploiting any kind of incident like this but it plays to what remains of their base.
I heard about the PA trail case. Looks like miscreant didn't get a chance to turn his life around. Oh well.

I would blame the person that pulled the trigger for this death. Now it is time for the courts to determine if this act was justifiable homicide or not.

Looks like you haven't improved your reading comprehension skills.

Absolutely not. This is a 100% Obama program. It was modeled after a Bush plan, but his did not involve letting the guns leave the country.

Of course it doesn't make sense when you are looking at if from a clear bia and/or filtering all the information that is available (which is very little).
Bologna. There is a wealth of information about this case, both in print and on the televised news. If Zimmerman thought that Trayvon was a threat, why did he get out of his truck? Why did he disregard the 911 dispatcher's advice? Why did he assume that it was his duty to chase down a young Black man in an integrated gated community? Why did the police ask Zimmerman a few questions then let him go, without drug and alcohol testing or taking his bloody clothing as evidence? Why was the murder weapon not confiscated? Why did an officer at the scene push a witness to change her testimony? Having possession of Trayvon's cell phone, why did the police hold it for 3 days without calling the number of the last out-going call? Why didn't Zimmerman stay in his truck when following Trayvon if he felt that he was a criminal? Is it rational to pursue
someone that you've just reported to 911 as a possible criminal? How does the SYG law cover someone not protecting their own property? Having assaulted a police officer in the past, why did Zimmerman have a gun?
Zimmerman's story doesn't make sense; he's either a liar or a fool. Neither choice makes him a victim. The victim is dead, and fodder for internet
bullies to demean and slander. That's revolting.

Once again, these details have been ignored or changed by the media.

1.The witness reports that George Zimmerman was on the ground and Trayvon is on top of him punching him.

2.The witness says that George Zimmerman was screaming and yelling for help.

3.Police arrive and find Zimmerman bleeding on his face and the back of his head. He also has had grass stains on his back. All this confirms the story told by Zimmerman and the witness.

4.Police play the 911 tape for Trayvon Martin’s father, who tells police that the voice screaming is not the voice of his son.

The neighborhood this took place in has seen a lot of crime. Would you be surprised to learn that there were eight burglaries, nine thefts, and a shooting just in the past year? In fact, the local homeowners’ association reports that George Zimmerman actually caught one thief and aided in the apprehension of other criminals. The Miami Herald wrote about this on March 17th.
This is interesting, I wonder how the forum ''brothers'' will twist this one.

I tuned in to "the ed show" on XM Radio earlier, and the "conspiracy" on this poor kids murder reaches up to upper levels of the republican party.

Even the sponsor of the "Stand your ground Law" stated that this nitwit zimmerman would not be protected by the bill.

msnbc...."lean in, 24 hrs a day about politicizing a tragedy!".
Only people at fault are Zimmerman and the state legislatures that left too many loopholes and vague statements in their law. Anyone with common sense knows this isn't "stand your ground" in what happened to this kid but unfortunately we have seen other cases in Florida that leave authorities bound by how the law is written and unable to act effectively.

Whose property was Trayvon Martin stealing? Since he was not stealing anyone's property and he DID have an issue; I would contend that not stealing other people's property does not guarantee one from not having any issues.

Gee, wouldn't that be nice? But here's the problem with that......THEY REFUSE TO ARREST AND CHARGE HIM AND BRING HIM TO TRIAL.

It is true that Obama's actions have been more pro-gun than any republican president I can remember. Anti-gun people might keep that in mind in Nov.
