The case against George Zimmerman seems to be falling apart by the day. More and more evidence supports the case for self defense. Either way, that's for a jury to decide. However...assuming he's found not guilty, or if a judge tosses the case before trial....how much can Zimmerman make off this case?
He certainly has a case against many media organizations. Those that painted him a racists and tarnished his reputation with no evidence. Those that fabricated conversations that make him appear that way (NBC, anyone). All of these have hurt his reputation and put his life in danger. Add to the obvious nutcases the NBPP bounty on his head. Or the flaming azzhats on Twitter that are calling for his death.
I am not a lawyer, but it sure seems like he has heck of a lot of options for civil suites. Hopefully he can clean out some of these irresponible groups and end up with enough of a settlement to "learn them a lesson".
Richard Jewell who the media went after back during the olympic bombing incident got 500K from NBC, an undisclosed settlement from the NY Post and another from his former employer if I remember correctly. Probably others too. I think he died before some ever were decided but not sure.

The case against Zimmerman grows stronger day by day. More and more evidence shows that he was a gun toting wanna be cop who accosted a 17 year old boy on the street, in the dark. Once he proceeded to get an ass-whooping, he shot the boy to death. I wonder if he can ever find a job that doesn't involve wearing a mask or if he'll have to be put in permanent protection, if found innocent.

Just figured I'd reverse it. Either way, the man is screwed. He's not going to have a normal life again. Neither is Trayvon. Self defense is when someone attacks you and you didn't start the freaking fight. Zimmerman instigates this, then claims self defense? What a nice precedent! I think I'll start stalking people and when they come at me, I'm gonna blast 'em and say, "Self defense." "HE HAD A @#$@%%#% CAN OF TEA!!!!, your Honor!" "How much more suspicious could he get, am I right or am I right?"

Damn I didnt realize Jewell past away I just read the wiki on him.

I hadn't either, that's too bad.
Hopefully Zimmerman will do better, he certainly deserves it after the way he's been treated by the media. Maybe NBC will become ZBC. We can only hope...
The Richard Jewell case isn't comparable, he was unequivocally innocent.
IMHO Zimmerman's finances will be awful in the future. The Williams family may have a civil cause of action against him. Few employers will be anxious to hire him.
The person who will come out ahead is Zimmerman's lawyer from future work. I doubt that this client will be able to pay his fee but the attorney will see a huge increase in business.

I read Zimmerman has mentored two Arican American children. I read this on.. the media. Wish they would stop treating him so unfairly. Certainly, If I stalked a male adolescent and then shot him when he attacked me, I'd like to just get back to my old life again, thanks.

This doesn't even consider book or movie deals...
He definitely has a good case against the State of Florida, I'm not sure how much malicious prosecution is going for these days but a couple million seems in order. Libel/Slander suits against NBC and MSNBC should be a slam dunk as well. They'll settle out of court for an undisclosed sum.
The book deals and the like will depend on how he plays it. To maximize his earnings he would have to play to the right wing but he is a registered Democrat and helped poor black kids during his free time. So I'm not sure he wants to go that route. We'll see.

My understanding is that if he wins immunity in the SYG portion of the case, he cannot be sued in civil court.
