Did you belong to the Cisco Kid and / or Hopalong Cassidy club(s)?
If you did, and you enjoy riding the range righting wrongs and defending honor and justice while rounding up rustlers -- why, I believe we might get along, -- pardner.
I'm the Roy and Dale era. (I still have my official Dale Evans watch. Does that count?)
And I've shaken hands with both, I'm proud to report.
The words in bold rang so true for me. I've heard multiple Boomers in this thread tell Millenials to stop complaining and start a business.
Obviously they've never started a business these days.
Please prove the first sentence. Actually, it always seems to be the "I don't need to go to college, I can start my own business like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Henry Ford" crowd of Millennials who talk about starting a business.
Do you think it was ever possible to start a business w/o some type of capital?

Depends. Radio or tv club? That you still have the watch adds points.
Roy and Dale were alright. I assume you haven't washed your hands since meeting them?
Funny story for you:
my brother found an old pistol from Spanish war era ... really really old and rusted ... in the basement of our house in Detroit, about 1948 - 49 ... he took it down the street to a Sun Drugs store where Cowboy Bob was doing a live radio broadcast. Brother walked up to Cowboy Bob -- on air -- and pulled out the [real] pistol, pointed it at Bob and said: "Put 'em up Bob!"
Bob freaked.
And the Millenials think Boomers are just bandits, huh. No. We tamed the wild [mid] West for them.

I sometimes wish I was a Boomer...love 60s, 70s music and all that...but being born in 1986 isn't TOO bad, it could be a lot worse. I'm more concerned with how responsibly both the Boomers and Gen Y will act NOW, not whether my parents' life was better than mine. I'm concerned about the affordability of real estate (more the lack of) at the expense of investors/empty nestors (my parents are investors too), how many Boomers will leave the workforce, things like that.
Maybe you wimps should have your own baby boom like our parents did? At least your kids will be boomers even if you are not. Boomers were like a large invading army of babies that were the product of lonely soldiers - kind of natures way of getting the numbers back up after war...okay- now git baby booming!

Wonder if there'll be another baby boom. My generation seem conservative actually. I know so many people marrying, settling down, buying a house and starting a family!

Yes. You simply sold your labor or service. Do you know your history?
As far as the 1st sentence, I'd quote YOU but you'd probably just find some deflection.

Can't afford too many kids these days. Especially if you plan on them going to college

You can sell your labor or service today. H***, my daughter sold her babysitting services one summer by putting up flyers on the street light poles in our neighborhood. She made a lot of money. However, I recall what you think of that type of work.
A friend of mine started selling her pet-sitting services, but she has another part-time job, too.

I wasn't putting down your daughter's work. I think you have the wrong perception of me. I was just implying that I thought meat packing was a much harder profession. It's all physical labor. It's cold. You lift a lot. And you work in or around blood all day.
That's what I meant by that. Not that I didn't value your daughters work. I'm an advocate for anybody that makes an honest living. I just feel that some jobs require more than others.
