You can't punish the kids for their parents' actions. If the parents don't get the help the kids will suffer. And that's why the help is there. For the kids, not the parents.

Either way, you're making a lot of assumptions that these mothers are getting welfare. You don't know that at all.

Smart, otherwise upstanding men do foolish things, too. And the reality is that once you do something foolish like have a kid out of wedlock, you're no longer upstanding. If you were still upstanding, that'd kind of defeat the purpose of being called upstanding.

You're then a smart person who made a bad decision. And if you do it again, as most of these women did, you're no longer smart.

Limit access to birth control ? Limited funds for FREE birth control maybe but anyone should be able to get together $15 to get the pill or just go to the local public school and ask for some free condoms.
