So she's drunk and goes into someone else's house.

Do you suppose she was charged to lessen the chances of her suing the homeowner? And her name is 'Ripple'?

Maybe...just maybe....she's being charged because she was...well...criminally trespassing.

Ya think?

As my retired cop brother-in-law always told me ...... if you shoot a trespasser in your house then make sure you kill them. That way they cannot sue.

Fortunately, I have never had to do this and I hope I never will.

I absolutely 100%+ believe in the Make My Day law.

You betcha.

And yes, one of the cardinal rules is shoot to kill.

There are plenty of bleeding hearts who will defend the drunk, though.

This young lady is lucky she isn't dead. She has a hard road ahead of her, but hopefully she takes this as a learning experience about not drinking so much that she has no idea where she is or what she's doing. She could have ended up dead, or worse, she could have ended up pregnant without a clue as to whom the daddy is.

Not defending the woman but I do think it is unfortunate that her getting drunk has led to an incident that will probably blight her life forever. And it probably won't do much for the homeowners either.

But, then, you know what they say. Add alcohol, instant ****hole

Alcohol plays a major role in most of the stupidity around here.

Anyway, I have no sympathy for her. Seriously, how damn drunk do you have to be in order to not know where you are?

Most of the locals, myself included, support the homeowner. Put yourself in his place. Middle of the night and you hear someone in your house, you yell at them to leave and instead they walk into your bedroom and toward you and your wife. What would you do under those circumstances?

The homeowner would have been well within his rights had he killed her. She's lucky that all he did was wound her.

So, she's gonna have a scar, boo hoo. At least she's still alive. Hopefully she's learned something from this.

Exactly.

I don't really understand the point of this thread.
She got drunk. She wandered into someone else's house. The home owner acted appropriately. The LEOs charged the trespasser as they should have.

End of story.
