Those people can get on medicaid today. No one needs to go without medical care today.

My In-laws were on Medicaid and my MIL had every operation you can name. I called her the million dollar women. She paid very little of her health care bills. Difference is it was paid by taxes already collected by the government. This is just a huge tax grab never before seen by our country and right in the middle of one of the worse recessions ever seen by our country.

Is this a joke? Very few doctors now open solo practices because the reimbursement rates for Medicare and even more so for Medicaid are so low that they have to have a lot of private patients just to cover the cost of running an office. Why do you think so many doctors refuse to see Medicare and Medicaid patients?Almost all doctors now are in group practices with 3 or 4 others so as to share office expenses. If these doctors you saw on tv thought that this was going to be such a great money making enterprise, I would say they need to do their homework. Once the government gets their hands in it, doctors will see that they are working long hours seeing all the additional patients for very little compensation. The only way thet a doctor seeing Medicare and Medicaid patients can make ends meet will be by increasing charges to private patients thus increasing costs to insurance companies to be passed along in higher premiums.
