How many times does this thread have to be put up? This is #3 or #4... The source study is clearly invalid, as has been pointed out over and over again...

The thing is. . . .I know, personally, quite a few doctors. EVERYONE of them would have prefered a public option as a part of the Affordable Care Act, but NONE of them are against Obama care as a first step towards universal coverage. . . . . These people are my neighbors and friends, and I live in a highly conservative part of the county!

Sure thing. A doctor who may have spent a million dollars on his education is going to walk out of his practice and go to work. Where? That doctor doesn't have a trade so he'll have to start flipping burgers at a fast food joint.

I remember went malpractice insurance went through the roof. Mr doctor at the time put on quite a show in his office threatening to close or to move. He never closed and he is still at the same location. All he did was raise the price of
his services. Tell me where anyone can charge between $120-$180 for ten minutes of their time other than a doctor and stay in business. Don't forget the specialist who now charge $250 and up.

This post is simply another failed attempt to discredit President Obama. The Romney fans are just like Romeny, a person who can climb no higher so they must try to reach out and drag others down to their level.

Medical doctors enter the profession knowing that the vast majority of their patients cannot pay out of pocket for their medical services. At least I would hope they realized early on that the lion share of their income would be coming through insurance companies. The average wage earner cannot come out of pocket $130,000 for a surgery.
That being said, with the passage of the health care bill, the number of insured just went up. Please explain to me how this hurts doctors, because I just don't see it.

A family member is around doctors all day, every day. Most of them wanted single payer.

Most doctors are not sold on the Health Care Reform for two reasons:
1- It shifts focus away from a single payer system, or at least a unified/standardized process.
2- It doesn't alleviate the problems brought by health insurance companies.

I know a lot of young people that were going into nursing that have changed their major because they see the writting on the wall. It won't take any 20 years for things to get bad and for it to be difficult to get treatment. Aint Hope and Change wonderful...
LOL...how can you guys be so cocky as to post stuff like this and think that it'll be believable to anyone with a 1/4 of a brain?

I mean, are you really that arrogant? Get real.

Nursing majors changing their field of study? To what? Sociology? Communication? Who are you kidding?

Here in Arizona, just GETTING into an in-state nursing school in a reasonable time is a tough task because there are so many applicants. My niece wants to get into NAU for Dental Hygiene...there is about a 2 to 3 year wait for even the most qualified applicants.

People that want to go into medicine don't want to do anything else. The overwhelming majority of people aren't cut out for that type of work. Not everyone can draw someones blood, or give someone a bath. Not everyone can watch a childbirth without getting queasy. These people are BORN...they're not really made.

And they aren't going to change their major unless they can't academically hack it. Then and only then will they change majors.

Besides, the HC profession is one of the few secure and growing industries left in this damn country. People just aren't going to drop nursing to become Business Majors.

You guys should be more careful about your stories in the future.

Your family doctor will soon be gone, and you'll get to share that impersonal clinic with a doctor who won't remember your name.

Solo doctors: No one wants to hire one - Jul. 11, 2012

Calling patient #1534. Last call for patient #1534...
