So, even if he is not a Muslim, he is to you.

He is also a Muslim to the Muslims. By their own definitions he is clearly a Muslim. Ask the imans what religion he would be.

You can thank reality tv & consumerism for this.
Some of us don't care.

I'm with you.

I have never taken into account, nor even given a thought to the religious beliefs of a candidate.

People can now listen to and read just the news they want to hear, to the exclusion of truth.

And before you say "but he attend a MUSLIM school in Indonesia" - doesn't mean that he was pracitcing the religion (in fact his teachers stated that he never took it seriously)

And you also forget that the 2nd school he attended in Indonesia till he was 10, was a predominantly Catholic school (Unless you think St. Francis Assisi is a Muslim)
To the bolded part - he's not a practicing Christian.

I do know he claims Christianity as his religion, but I do not believe he is one. I also do not believe he is a Muslim - radical or otherwise. Those who are practicing Muslims do not think he is one either by anything but birth.

Hopefully, it won't matter much longer.

Btw, that application was to the FIRST school he attended, filled out by his Step-father before Barack moved to Indonesia with his mother.

Seeing as his teacehrs from that school even said that Obama didn't take the Muslim religion class seriously, you're at this point grasping at straws.
You could be a Buddhist -- if you were a Christian and renounced Christianity and converted to Buddhism, depends on the rules set by Buddhists.

JFK for example was a baptized Catholic. He wasn't a good Catholic but officially that's what he was, a member of the Catholic Church, he never renounced his faith and he was never excommunicated, so like it or not, he was a Catholic. There are rules set by each religion to determine who is and who isn't.

You aren't a Muslim iman and so you can't rewrite their rules for how they determine who is a Muslim. Under Muslim rules, a child of a Muslim is a Muslim. It's a lot like citizenship of a country. I can't just say I'm a citizen of Spain. It's up to the rules of that country if I am or I am not.

In Christianity one must be baptized and there is no evidence Obama ever was. When he was sent to that Catholic school, his religion was listed as Islam -- so at what point did he ever quit being a Muslim?

Too bad there isn't a real iman on this forum to ask --- if one is born to a Muslim father, is that one a Muslim child? And how do you you go about leaving Islam if you are born into it?
