Godwin's Rule invoked on the 10th post in the thread. That's really early to mention Hitler.

A question back at you. Why does the left always claim Hate just because someone else disagrees with their positions?
Perhaps liberals "claim" hate because conservatives don't stop at just criticizing his policies and instead make up lies accusations, distortions and other character assassinations--not just against him, but against his family as well. It's disgusting and repulsive, especially when they put on the mantle of being honest to goodness decent "real" Americans. Then, when confronted about their hatred, they say "b-b-but, we only hate his policies!" It also doesn't help when conservatives who don't hate the president refuse to rebuke those who say such terrible things. You think liberals make it up, but we believe (correctly) that hatred, true hatred for Obama as a person, is very, very real.

Don't know about hate, but extremely disappointed in Romney, since, like McCain, he sold his soul, just to win the nomination (even though I strongly suspect there's been enough delegate suppression in this to keep Paul from being the true nominee or still in the running). Romney was actually, to the right, but not far right, when he was MA governor. I only hope in the sad event he was elected, that he will run the country, except job growth, like he ran MA.

And I was just curious about how you--my fellow left of centre posters--felt about Romney. Do you hate him as much as conservatives hate the Obamas? (I'm not really getting the same vibe I saw in 2008 toward Obama, myself) How will you react if he is elected? How upset will you be?

Personally, I think they're nice people who have their hearts in the right place...but they're just out of touch with what it's like for Americans of average means in this country. I won't be voting for him, But I've never thought the Romneys were bad people--as opposed to many other leading conservative personalities. If Romney was elected, I'd be disappointed, but I wouldn't go apoplectic the way the right did when Obama was elected.

So what do you think?
I don't know Mr. Romney, so I can't say that I hate him. I do hate the way he has contorted himself from a relatively moderate East Coast Republican into this phony, "severely conservative" Tea Party wannabe. Much like the McCain of 2000, who I liked and would have seriously considered voting for, the current iteration of this Mitt Romney in no way resembles the Romney of a decade ago. I believe the Romney of old is the "real" Mitt, if such a thing exists.

Too bad he didn't think the real Mitt was good enough to run on. The fake one certainly isn't.

He seems feeble, uncultured and distracted, and I have seen nothing that would qualify him as leader of anything besides a country club.

You really need to brush up on your history.

Do search on Palin, Bush, Rumsfeld, Chaney, Judge Thomas, John Tower.

I could go on but you wouldn't do any searching on them anyway..

Plus numerous threads/posts that "just disagree with Obama's policies".

The photo in question has been on Obama's facebook page but people observing the photo took notice of his mothers right hand touching Obama's ribcage. If you look at the hand, it's huge and black and doesn't align to her arm. The speculation swirling it is that she was photoshopped in the picture taking the place of who many say is the real father, Frank Marshall Davis, He was the good friend of Obama's grandfather and communist mentor of Barack Obama and was the actual person originally standing next to Barack at the airport instead of the mother . Robert Nikolakakis, a professional graphic artist who examined the 1973 photo believes the image of Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, was airbrushed into the scene to cover up an African-American man who was standing next to Obama. Look at the picture and tell us what you see.

Link to Obama's facebook page----Obama's grandfather's hand in the picture (the man standing) is lighter than hers.

Does anyway really believe that President Obama was not influenced greatly by this subversive - can you really deny that Obama's plan for America is to implement communism?

How come the mainstream media refused to focus much attention on the man who President Obama acknowledged was a mentor in his book Dreams From My Father - but referred to him only as "FranK". Why not talk about a key mentor of someone whom they unabashedly supported for the presidency - yet seemed shy when it came to a certain man named "Frank". Why would President Obama avoid mentioning the man's full name?

As Kengor says - "We’ve had 44 presidents and they’ve all had mentors, yet never before in the entire 200-plus year [presidential] history of this country, have we had a president with a mentor who was a card carrying member of the Communist Party".

Very cool to hear about the new book even though it may be the slanted-to-not-be-revealing, version. Davis was closely watched by the FBI once he moved to Oahu and even opened a shop of his own that I have heard was torched. He wrote some pervy literature while there and was one despicable influence on a young, impressionable boy that has become president.

More on the dude, here...

In comments reported in a statement issued by the Association, Shater told the meeting held on Tuesday night that he would establish a special entity to help parliament achieve this objective.
The Brotherhood's reversal of its promise not to contest the
elections has drawn criticism from inside and outside the group, whose party controls the biggest bloc in parliament and which dominates an assembly that is drawing up the constitution.

I do not hate the Obama's at all. I don't think he is a good President and would never vote for him but to say republicans hate Obama is a little ridiculous. I think he has a good personality. I only wish that he was still in Chicago.

The Romneys seem like they are nice people and a lovely family. I just don't happen to believe in what they believe in politically speaking. Should Mitt Romney win, I seriously doubt that you will see the same type (and amount) of vitriol and hatred that was lobbed at President Obama and Michelle Obama.

After the election in 2008, the right became hysterical at the thought that America was going to lead by a Black man. There was palpable panic and fear that was beyond ridiculous...and it still continues with the birther/Kenya/socialist/communist nonsense.
