I'm telling you!

Although, there was this one time, at an Eagles concert, if I hadn't been with my girl friend, I know I could have taken my English teach home. She was wasted and huggy clingy, when we caught eyes, as I walked up the isle. My girl friend asked "who was that?" My English teacher.

Texas teacher found guilty of having sex with five students - U.S. News

agreed. These laws need to be re-thought. Just because voters wanted the law doesn't mean it is just. That is a example of democracy being mob rules, tyranny of the majority against the minority. It is easy to say, 25 years for using a gun no questions but things are not always black and white like someone who shoots a warning shot in the air for instance.

America is becoming more draconian than some seem to realize. I think she should be fired, I don't agree with swinging but it isn't my right to pass laws against people's personal lifestyle when it doesn't effect me.

Most Texans are fairly common sense people. Hopefully she'll get no more than probation.

All five of the students were in Colleps' senior English class in the spring of 2011 and all of the victims were at least 18 when the incidents occurred.
She should be fired, but I see no court case.

They don't even think of themselves as victims.

Well, if any of them were her students, it could still be seen as an abuse of power. Granted, it's much easier to imagine this sort of scenario when the teacher is a male and the students are female. But it's possible that one or more of these students didn't really want to be involved but feared on some level that she would use her authority as a teacher to retaliate against them in some way if they refused. Even if such a threat is never made, it can be perceived.

The jurors and judge in this case appear to have "acted stupidly" - five years of taxpayer money to incarcerate a woman for having sex with 18-year-old men? Sorry Texans, but that's really dumb.

I agree. Just another reason why I wouldn't want to live in Texas. Backwards and backwoods people.

If this was a male teacher having sex with four high school girls, those of you defending the teacher would be calling for the male teacher's head.
