Sometimes strong measures have to be implemented to correct long term imbalance like the many, many years of Jim Crow laws and the many years of discrimination against women in the workplace. I support that corrective measure.

Malcolm x used to call folks like enemy country uncle toms, I can see why looking at the past 50 years results. Black progressives have made their bed and now they have to lie in it.
If you ever speak with these Tea Partiers, you quickly realize a few things:
1. They have no idea how money is spent, what it is spent on and how people are taxed. They will be convinced, for instance, that most of the budget is spent on foreign aid, welfare for black people and pork barrel projects.
2. They don't believe they consume any public services or for the ones they do consume, they have paid for their share through their own taxes and no one else subsidizes anything they use.
3. Along the lines of #1, they believe their taxes have gone up when their federal tax burden has either stayed the same or dropped.
4. They don't wish to have to pay for any program that does not directly affect them. I have heard these geniuses argue that they should not have to pay for local schools because they no longer have kids in school. When you ultimately boil all this down, what you have is a bunch of self-centered me-monsters who are ignorant of how their government operates and generally dislike the idea of having to bear the responsibilities of living in a community. They're essentially three year-olds who want it their way and hate the idea that they are required to pay for certain things that they have directly benefitted from in the past and may benefit indirectly from in the present. Again, think, "I've got mine, now Scr*w you." That's the mentality we are dealing with here.
