When you are looking for the answer to something, it's easy to stop when the answer fits your needs. The Internet provides all sorts of answers, some right but most just opinions posted as the truth. It's a feeding ground for anything and everything. What it did was expose the truth about our education and intelligence.

The IQ system was originally created so that 100 was average. About half the people are under 100? Think about that.

Default Despite having access to much more information nowadays, why are people dumber?

Having access to info doesn't imply having the ability to grasp and analyze it.

Intelligence is mostly inherited.

Apparently only by Democrats. The smart Republicans died out decades ago.

Intelligence is about interpreting not knowing.

You can have lots of information in your brain but can't reach a conclusion.

Lol..intelligence is determined by politics, yea? Mmm..I'd say, within a certain age bracket, leftist or rightist, take away their smartphone, and they are as dumb as a box of rocks, and more useless.

Watch Jessie Walters segments on Bill Oreilly's show on Fox. People are so wrapped up in Honey Boo Boo and the Kardashians they haven't a clue about what's going on.

The movie Idiocracy predicts the future accurately I believe.

Many people seek out knowledge that reinforces their world view. Therefore, they are not on the net looking to educate themselves or learn new information--they are looking for information which allows them to continue to believe whatever it is they believe.

Also--many people believe that what they read on the net is true. Since anyone can set up a website and post opinions, people seem to think that it is officially correct info. E.g., people on this forum link to obscure websites that are only opinions as if they are an actual news source and credible.

Simply giving people more information doesn't help especially when a large portion of that information is false. They need to be able to think critically so they can decern truth from falsehood.
Really...Left wingers have that problem down pat, mostly due to the corporate media lying to them, and of course protecting democrat politicians when they often screw up.
Most people know is celebrities and sports, due to liberal mainstream media keeping these people dumbed down, actual facts about what is really going on are like kryptonite to left wingers.

You have to consider that never before, was it possible for so many people to voice their opinions and beliefs. Good chance we aren't any/much stupider, but you just have never heard the general population's opinion on everything via them interwebz.
