If they thus far, have what who to compare him to, it is perfectly acceptable data. If weather data says hottest day on record, they are going by what weather history is available to date. Get it?

President Obama was not handed a recession when he took office but probably the biggest recession since the great depression. Jobs were being lost at around 800,000 per month. The housing market had collapsed. The stock market was in free fall. Two wars were banrupting us. The respect of America by the World had fallen to a all time low. Health care was bankrupting and failing millions in America. Our Auto industry was on the verge of imploding. Banks were going under and for some mysterious reason there are some in the USA who felt that as soon as President Obama took office if he didn't cure it all virtually overnight..... he had failed.
The HUGE hole that President Bush and the Republican administration had put us in was far deeper than anyone could have imagined and instead of trying to get us out of it, a republican "pact" was put into place to block and thwart any Obama bills or incentives to move America forward with a main objective of getting our President out of office at any cost and returning the Republican's to the Whitehouse.
Even with the Huge recession and complete hostility from the right, President Obama is now getting jobs and industry back in the USA. Reforming health care. Housing sales are now returning and house prices are rising. The stock market is now out of free fall. Our troops are coming home. Our Auto industry is now successful again. Women can now get the same salaries as men doing the same job. Our vets are being fast tracked into education and jobs. The World has found new respect for America and all in under 4 years.
Only another 4 years will see if President Obama will be a truly great President or a failure. It is too sonn to make any real judgements but so far he has shown that he has a cool head and is doing the job he was voted in to do........ get America out of one of the biggest disasters it has ever had to face, even with complete resistance from the Republican's and a insistance by the right that to save America will cost us nothing.
Kudos Mr President for a job well done so far.
Rep to you.

No you don't get it. No serious, objective historian attempts to place a president into a ranking system until at least 20 years have passed in order to achieve some perspective. They most certainly don't do so in the middle of a term.

We can rank George H.W. Bush and before. Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama -no.

Barry Soetoro (a.k.a. Barack Hussein Obama) will always have his patsies as even Ted Kennedy and Charlie Manson have their admirers.

"...But the historic election of America’s first black president cannot be ignored. That a man whose ancestors included a slave could become the leader of a nation founded to some extent in slavery is as much an achievement for the country as it is a marker for Obama himself. Whether Obama stays or goes, his standing as a fundamentally groundbreaking president will remain."

Regardless that he presided over record unemployment, annual $1trillion+ deficits, record numbers of Americans on assistance, a mess of a healthcare overhaul, a pile of broken campaign promises and the most polarized electorate in years, he's great because...he's black?

Isn't it racist to call Obama "great" by attributing his greatness to his race rather than any accomplishments?

I thought Barry was Bushes cousin and they all go back to the queen of England...

I was at Mount Rushmore recently, there's still room

Why would it explode brains?

Nobody with an ounce of sense even looks at Newsweek, much less buy and read it.
