The NAZI Party of the 1930's is characterized by militarism, racial hatred, extreme nationalism, monopoly capitalism and anti-intellectualism. I'd say that pretty much defines the modern American conservative movement, not contemporary liberalism.

See ya later, kid. Come back after you grow up and say hello! We'll still be here, and you're always welcome to come back any ol' time.

But until then, don't let the door hit you in the butt. We will do just fine without the likes of you around.

None of you Obama lovers & haters of Liberty and freedom posted anything interesting or compelling so I'll have to do it:

Obamas record:

1) Increased the debt more than the last 6 Presidents combined
2) Highest poverty rate since the 1950's
3) Average American wealth down by 40%....I did much much better becasue I knew what he would do
4) Unemployment the highest since the 1930's
5) Lied about closing Gitmo
6) Lied about getting us out of Afghanistan
7) Average income of Americans down by 15%

Expect a continuation of the decline if he wins. Riddle me this Obamanation nuts, what if anything has he done that helped anyone out?

Thais are a wonderful people and a wonderful culture. perhaps you should visit a place before trashing it based on here say.
Tinman,

Totally agree about Thailand and it's probably at the top of my list. I have 1 friend that moved to Cha Am and another moved to Chiang Mai. I've visitited both of them and really love CM especially. Also BKK is fabulous.

What a loyal soul you are Instead of trying to improve things at home, you just leave the ship that is not even sinking...
Sounds almost a bit like blackmail, either people vote the way you want them to or you leave. Is that what's left of democracy?
Nor do I think most countries are keen on receiving people like you. I mean, loyal as you are, you will be the first to return to the US should one of those conservatives win the next election.

IMHO - if you wish to abandon this country you are welcome to leave but you cannot take your citizenship or wealth with you.
Your words - Cannot take your citizenship or wealth with you. Why not? Unless you decide to disown or forgo your citizenship is your birth right.
Your wealth. You earned it and as such it is your right to spend it where you like. Who should get your wealth if not you? You already paid your taxes on it so you owe nothing after that point.

Here is where you lose me.... because hardliners determining policy here, you want to move to Thailand? They have had more coups and coup attempts in the last 40 years than I have fingers to count them with, they make American politics look mild and non-partisan. Thailand is not the place to move if the aggressive and splintered political atmosphere here is getting to you.

Plus you think our political ads are irritating, try having the same pickup truck full of guys and Thai political slogans written on the side (complete with smiling picture of candidate) that you can't undertstand drive by four times a day blaring the same political message from a piece of crap speaker system that looks like the one from the Blues Brothers.
Where I have property with my wife is out of the city so the politics are a very small factor. As for the coups? Normally bloodless and most Thai's are not involved.
My issue with out politics. Harliners regurgitating the same old talking points based on lies or exaggerations. I hate watching the country I love die on the vine.
I still remember when people were expected to carry their own weight. Trophies were earned and people didnt expect freebies. This class warfare crap is probibly the most annoying of all.
The best part about Thailand is the live and let live attitude and the fierce sense of independence. I see more beggers here in 1 day than I have there in all my many trips.
Is it perfect? NO far from it. But there are a few things we can learn from them and be better for it.
