The Lone Star State.

It has a coast and many ports, plenty of agriculture, big cities with employment, lots of guns, oil deposits, woodlands, great people, and room to grow.

Will Texas secede from Barack Obama's America?

Interesting...I don't think so but ya never know...I don't think as a state its sustainable...its a minority majority state now unfortunately. All those illegals won't want to leave the US...all that welfare they get...hell if it does secede maybe all the illegals will leave...but like I said I don't think it will happen...I say just wait and let the country collapse.

Texans seems to be some of the least patriotic people in the country, for all their claims to the contrary. There are major problems in our country, but to desert your fellow citizens is cowardly.

Texas is much more sustainable than many sovereign nations today.

Illegal immigration is a problem in Texas, but Texans can be very creative when they need to be.

Apart from outright secession, which I'm not advocating (yet), Texas is probably the only state with the political will, the resources, and the cajones to stand up to Obama's thugocracy.

I'm not seeing a downside here -- except my dad, who is 78 and lives in Austin and would undoubtedly want to leave rather than submit to a totalitarian right-wing theocracy.

Texas will not secede, nor do they have the cojones to stand up to Obama. There's a super easy way to sign off federal government socialism, don't accept a single penny of federal funding! Since Texas is not willing to do that, it's all the boy who cried wolf

On CNN, at the rate it's going, it may just be blue someday if the Republicans keep underestimating the minority vote.

WAHHHHHH.....We lost, buhuhu, we'll just take our state and go home.

God what a bunch of whiners. Grow up, Mittens lost. Not by much, but he lost.

We do agree they are the only ones that have the balls to do it....I hope if they start it the south joins in...this time it will be a guerilla war and we will win...I would rather die on my feet fighting tyranny than dying in old age in a tyrannical country.

I doubt it. Perry and W sure knew how to woo latino voters in Texas. Jeb also knows how to get them on his side as he was pretty popular with latinos in Florida.
