I have no guilt, I'm not a repressed Republican....
It's unfortunate you lack the ability to see why your political idealogy is 100 years behind the majority of Americans...

You're speaking for the entire republican party. And until your party does 'get it', you'll probably keep losing most of the major elections.

Clearly. You'll take anything from anyone, even if they don't want you to.

No what's sad is that people such as yourself want to know why moderate liberals like Obama win elections, and then when you get answers you don't like, you immediately dismiss them out of hand without trying to understand someone else's point of view. The "truth" is not as you see it -- that's only your version of truth. You seem to be of the opinion that your experience is universal and that the moral leanings to which you subscribe, which are based largely on that experience, are the moral truth in the absolutist sense.

Take, for instance, your assumption that the poster is feeling "guilt". I doubt seriously the poster feels personal responsibility for the plight of others any more than you do, so guilt would not seem to be the accurate choice of words. It has more to do with a fundamental difference in one's philosophical outlook, a difference which leads others to conclude that we are all likely to reap the individual benefits when we all succeed as a collective.

Another absurd position.

Taxation is subject to democratic influence; it's not theft. It's certainly no more of a theft than that of this country's financial institutions, which used the money that we spend in this economy to gamble all of our economic fortunes away.

Patient: My knees hurt
Doc: Why do your knees hurt
Patient: Well, I like sucking off people and then complaining they denigrated my reputation
Doc: Stop sucking off people
Patient: Can you give me a pill that will make my knees stop hurting and something that will return my dignity?
Doc: No, but I can give you something that will numb your stupidity and apathy.
Patient: Sold!

Was that supposed to be clever or something?

Look, you guys said that you wanted to know why Asians and minorities (and whites for that matter) could possibly vote for Obama. We've tried to explain it. I know you think Americans "got it wrong," but maybe you all could start paying attention to some refreshingly intelligent rhetoric coming from people in your own party, such as Bobby Jindal and Chris Christie...or you all could continue to insist that you all are "right" and just keep watching your party get rolled in elections. You can either work and try to understand possible adversaries or scoff at them and refuse to understand them. Your choice.

I am asian. (DUH). Even though this post is old, I want to respond anyway.
One of our trait, which is also a stereotype to some extent, is that we value education. That is true. With that, most of us like to be educated / informed about everything.
Before the election and pretty much everyday, we actually read all the coverage and learn about each candidate.
I, being a geek, personally read CNN, NBC, FOX news everyday. I conclude that some news from certain sources are more bias and incoherent than the others, such as FOX. I also conclude that Obama is the best option for this country.
