Except for law enforcement and the military what problems would arise if there were no guns in this country? I suppose we would have 30,000 more people alive every year. What's that, about a million folks in some 30 odd years? I guess people couldn't go hunting. Well, there's always the grocery store. So, what would be the major problem if there were no guns in the citizenry?

Blunt weapon trauma would be a more prevalent cause of death.

Only police, military and criminals would have them.

Why would law enforcement need guns, in your scenario?

The same reason the military would need them. They are highly trained people that are paid to keep the peace. But I suppose if there were no guns maybe they wouldn't need them.

What problems would we have with a huge demand for guns and our wide open southern border?

Well, how would criminals have them if there were none? Criminals in the UK don't have them and the whole country has about 30 gun deaths a year as opposed to 30,000 for the US.

Bingo!

To answer your original question, we would have little protection against an oppressive govt.

Huh? You're kidding right? You think that we need guns so that we can defeat our own government in battle? Yah, I'm sure the greatest military that ever lived is really afraid of you and your guns. Come on man. You have to be sheeting me.
