And that's part of the problem.

No, I would likely sue you for putting my life and the life of my child in even more danger by taking the law into your own hands.
Really? You know about the Oregon mall shooting right? You know one of the reasons (highly underreported) he only killed 2 was that the shooter was confronted by a shopper that had a concealed carry permit and was packing (in a gun free zone I might add)? According to the news article the shooter killed himself when he saw he was about to be stopped. I'd bet all those people around him are lining up to sue him as we speak.

The results of the Newtown shooting include this: 6 adults were murdered at the school, the age of most of the child cictims was 6, and the attack took place on the 6th day of the week.

Coincidence?

We don't think so!

It is totally illogical.

Cars are generally not recreational but for many of us are a necessity.

For the civilian population, guns are recreational. Do you NEED to go to target practice? Do you NEED to hunt? Do you NEED to drive to work or the grocery store?
There weren't any cars from 1776 to about 1900. And you could take the bus today. Do YOU really need to drive?

People forget (or aren't taught) that at one point, all Japanese males of adequate age were trained and instructed to kill any American they could find.

December 7th was just s week and a half a go.

When he rises from the dead, give us a heads up. Until then, seek help.

But I'll tell you something. I get really tired of hearing these what ifs as a rationale for the existence of 88+ million guns in this country. If 88 million guns don't make us safe, 88 million and 1 certainly isn't going to do it. You know what would make us safe? zero guns. Ask the Japanese.
Japan has guns, they also have police that have very, very broad powers that would never be tolerated in this country. Different cultures different rules.
As for the "call the police or leave it to the police" chant, you are aware that the police are under no duty to protect you right? Hmmmm? You do KNOW that right?
I'll bet you don't know that.
Before the shouting of "you're a crazy gun nut and a liar to boot" just take a gander at the 7-2 Supreme Court decision in June of 2005, Castle Rock v. Gonzales, No. 04-278.
Darn, I hate it when the fallacy of what I'm told life is smacks me upside the head.
