The act sure. The repercussions no. A President's child being kidnapped has National Security implications. Joe Schmoe's doesn't.

Joe Schmo is not the elected President of the free world.

There is nothing factual to indicate the Obama children are spoiled or brats.

Why no outrage when prior presidents sent their own children to private, high security, schools?

The liberals in this thread just don't get it.

No one denies that Sasha and Malia deserve all the protection that they have.

What people question is why the loony left wants to deny that same protection to people like the 20 first graders and 6 teachers and faculty who were murdered in Newtown.

President Obama wants action in the wake of this tragedy. How come he isn't insisting on the same level of protection afforded his children?

What do the armed Secret Service agents do all day at Sasha and Malia's school?

Are you really suggesting that the Secret Service should not be there because you think that such an attack is a rare occurence?

People don't go after the president's family like the terrorists did in Tom Clancy's novel Executive Orders, because there is a deterrant in place.

Apparently you don't want the same deterrant in place for Sandy Hook Elementary and other potential school targets.

Why?

If you have to ask that then you're not old enough to use a computer without adult supervision and/or you failed every math class you ever took.

No, you don't get it.

1) Sidwell Friends is a PRIVATE SCHOOL! They use tuition money for whatever they want and being that they want to attract the children of high profile people having armed guards makes sense dontcha think?
2) Public Schools are not run by the Federal Government. It's local Government. Let them decide to put armed guards in place by using taxpayer money.

Being the conservative that you are aren't you for that? Oh wait you are for smaller government. Wait.....what are you for since having the government (whether Federal since you seem to think it's their duty or local) handle this would probably increase government spending? You faux outrage about a President sending his children to the same school countless Presidents and politicians have sent theirs is laughable.

Yes they did.

Why are you deflecting from the issue?

This has nothing to do with presidential children or political affilliations of their parents.

It has everything to do with why the loony left wants to deny protection to schoolchildren.

Where was it stated that the "loony left" wants to deny protection to schoolchildren? When was the vote? What bill was denied? When did all of this happen?

I never said that I want the federal government to pay for security at the schools, did I?

Nice strawman.

You are correct that I call for a local government solution, although allowing faculty to carry concealed would be a much better approach.

All I ask of President Obama is to put his mouth where his money is, and advocate for local governments to either fund security at schools, or not obstruct faculty who wish to carry concealed.

Your smear attempt FAILS.
