Huge movement back in the 60's and early 70's tied to civil rights to do just that and it died out. Western commercialism is a damn juggernaught.
True. Black men used to be bad too. Jheri curls, perms, pompadours, finger waves, s-curls, etc...I hate it all.
We're black, and we should wear our hair naturally. I've got no issues with coloring, or adding a mild texturizer...but those harsh ass chemicals? That stuff will ruin your hair.
I just keep a Philly Fade with waves that'll make you seasick. And I only need to wash it once a week after I get it cut.
