I have an open question for Jr. Cuomo and the NY legislators that voted for this law.

Do any of you actually BELIEVE that you have done anything to reduce violent crime in your state? Do you actually think that your violent criminals, who ignore laws against murder, armed robbery, rape, assault etc...will suddenly decide to obey the state gun laws? That a gang banger with a stolen handgun will now take it to a licensed dealer for a background check when he sells it to his little gang-banger buddy? If so...I have some ocean front property to sell ya.

Come on...it has nothing to do with reducing crime. It is all, and only, about promoting a political agenda. Some people just have this irrational hatred of an inanimate object...rather than criminals. Amazingly the same people that suggest banning or restricting firearms for the law abiding also promote lax prison sentences and coddling of the most violent criminals.

I'm from rural western New York. To my friends there, I'm sorry the state has come to this. I was actually optimistic for you back in the early 90s when you tossed Cuomo Daddy and passed a capital punishment law. Sounds like Jr is as bad as Daddy.

I thought NY was supposed to be one of the "tough guy" states, they are full of *******.

Honestly the new laws are insane, you need a backround check and ammo sales go through FFL.

I still can't believe they banned one manufacturer. Bushmaster AR-15s are banned, but you can get any other AR15 LOL

Look at the other likely unexpected consequence. People with small caliber handguns with larger magazine capacities will now be forced to get rid of them. The most likely choice is the 1911, with a 7 round magazine, in .45 ACP. This is a far more lethal round than the little 9mm.

Yes, geographical majority is a laughable concept. It never matters in a one person, one vote democracy, and it never will.

Since disarmament only benefits predators, who will prey on the weak, one must consider the ramifications.
It appears that the most powerful interest group in New York are the predators, who will now be able to expand their activities without fear of repulse.

Six pages (and counting) of gun nutters fuming and frothing at the mouth. What fun! I'd throw some peanuts through the bars if I could.
