This is definately a case of the urban blue controlling the rest.
That's exactly what I was thinking. No way the vast majority of the state (geographically) supports this. Absolutely no way.

But of course that's the MO. A few liberal urbanites trying to control everyone else.

You know, while America still has the most freedom in general firearm wise, when laws like this NY one are enacted even many european countries have less restrictions than this.

of course, anyone can ban as many guns as they want, if someone wants to go on a mass murder rampage or criminals want guns it will just as easy then as now to get them. Leave it to the wonderful city of NY and the wonderful mayor...Good luck and thank you God for leading me to any city but New York..

It's gotta put a big hole in a perp with the least amount of rounds.

.45 ACP and .357 MAG are the best options with that in mind.

When they came for the "military style rifles" the hunters, shotgun skeet & trap shooters and handgun owners said " meh, doesn't effect me" so they took them.

Then when they came for the handguns the hunters and shotgun skeet and trap shooters said "meh doesn't effect me" so they took them.

Then when they came for the hunting rifle with a scope " deemed a sniper rifle by the anti's" the shotgun skeet & trap shooters said "meh doesn't effect me" so they took them.

Then when they came for the shotgun there was no one left to stand up for the shotgun people so they took them......

how odd. I'm a law abiding citizen residing in Texas. In New York, I'm a criminal.

What a shame, I really wanted to Visit New York at some point in my life. But I get the distinct impression they don't want me or my money there.

The magazines are not grandfathered, which effectively bans a lot of guns.

Same old, same old. And they will make sure the mentally ill avoid committment.

The really sad part is this might drive even more New Yorkers to abandon the state.

This may emliminate some handguns but why is a 7 round magazines an issue, how many residents need more than 7 rounds to defend. The law is more than just magazine limitations, background checks, more severe penalties.

Yeah, because if a gang of armed thugs does a home invasion, a stressed out person will be a crackshot and there won ever be more than 7 intruders.

This ban is going to go to court and is doomed. Even the Luger my grandfather brought back from WWI would be banned in NY (used 8 round mags). It bans some of the most popular guns today and even antique collectible guns.
