Owning a gun doesn't make you brave and using quack terms doesn't make you educated.
Stripping me of my right to possess a firearm doesn't make you safer and using horse crap buzzwords like "assault weapon" and "common sense gun control" doesn't take away from the fact that you are a hoplophobic statist authoritarian bed-wetter.
Where do you get the absurd notion that the NRA stands for sociopathic lunatics holding people hostage with a gun as being "cool individuals in control".
Wow, did I really say that? Let me just re-read... Nope, no I didn't. Must be the voices in your head.

Now all law abiding gun owners in this country are wanna-be hostage takers seeking to "take control"?
That's funny, I don't remember typing that either. I guess it's time to re-read again... Nope, didn't type that. Weird.

I think the bedwetting hoplophobic gun-grabbers are the ones with these deep-seated neuroses and can't stand the fact that people that disagree with them politically (read: RWNJ) have the means to defend against their plans for a violent bolshevik revolution to create a unicorn dust worker's paradise socialist utopia. Stop projecting your irrational hoplophobic thoughts onto law abiding citizens.
Don't you have some bourgeoisie skulls to bash in?
OK, I guess that's when I ask - who are you arguing with?

Unlike Reagan, I have no desire to ban your guns, keep them if you want.
If they make you feel tougher or improve your self esteem, then good for you, cheaper and easier than therapy

Good.
Now can I count on you not to drone on about "common sense gun control" and "reasonable restrictions" and "assault weapon bans" and "no one needs 10 shots to kill a deer"?

Him accusing the NRA of appealing to bravado is not the same as calling them lunatics. Producers of action films do the same thing, I'd hardly consider them lunatics.
OK, then. Please explain the logical leaps involved in turning

I welcome debate, but do try to argue against the actual points, not the ad-absurdio positions you decide to ascribe to me? I realize that the latter are much easier to deal with, but still...

Notice how you clumsily segue from "peek into the psyche of a seriously broken individual" into "the NRA subculture is based on the trope of "the guy with the gun is the cool individual in control"?
Your clumsy attempt to link the sociopath in Rage to mainstream gun owners and NRA members is not lost on those of us capable of critical thinking. You are guilty of the fallacy of the sweeping generalization and don't even know it.
Take a moment to stop sniffing your own socks and come to grips with the fact that you are a hoplophobe and that you need to seek help.
Well, I kinda cited the excerpt you yourself chose for your own post #24. Feel free to scroll up.

Not a segue - a contrast.
Stephen King: Depicts a troubled individual using a gun to temporarily take charge and the tragic outcome. Retracts story from print when he realizes not everybody gets that it's a warning.
NRA, gun makers, half of Hollywood, most of US pop culture: Depict gun ownership as the act of a cool, collected individual in control.
This contrast serves to illustrate that its rather ridiculous for the NRA backers to accuse Stephen King of hypocrisy over Rage - as the story (to recap) very much doesn't encourage people to emulate the protagonist's example. Well, shouldn't. People are kinda dumb.

That attempt exists only in your mind, I am afraid.

Awesome - so you do know what I mean better than I do. I so love mind readers. Quick, what am I thinking right now?

Who told you that somebody wants to take away your firearms?
Haven't you figured out that the right-wing media is playing on people's natural fears for profit? You needn't succumb.
