She is unfit for the title "governor" since she bailed on her constituents before finishing her term in order to cash in on the reality TV / media circuit.
This is why I've never gone along with the "Palin is stupid" meme (even though I completely disagree with most of her political viewpoints). She's made herself a fortune off people like the OP. It takes at least some intelligence to do that.
It's funny how even the intellectually challenged are smart for themselves when it come to the almighty $. Greed and self-service are not traits that Palin is short on.
That is the biggest lie ever. Alaska was the only state in the nation at the time that had a loophole in their law that Obama operatives found that provided a way to bombard the governors office with relentless ethics lawsuits even if they had no proof. Alaska at the time had a statute on the books that provided if a complaint was filed, the Secretary of State would have to launch a investigation. Obama operatives seized the opportunity and they came out of the woodwork filing complaints right and left. For example, one complaint filed by a democrat Obama supporter stated that Governor Palin showed up at a Iditarod race wearing a jacket with a logo patch on it. A complaint was filed saying the governor was supporting the company that was on the patch and was a violation of the governors office. It was further from the truth. Never the less a full blown investigation took place causing her and her staff to be tied up in hours of depositions and research.
In all, over 27 of these type lawsuits were filed on average of one a week and her legal bills were piling up to over 700k and climbing. Since Alaska statutes at that time didn't provide defense funds for the governor, she had to hire her own defense lawyers, pay for them out of her own pocket and she and her family were going broke and facing total bankruptcy and she was being prevented from doing her duties as governor due to countless hours of depositions. Palin returning from the VP campaign had just taken a 25k cut out of her salary of just 125k a year as Governor. She was left with two options, stay and have Alaska's state business tied up while going broke fighting the lawsuits or step down and turn over the governors office to Lt Gov. Sean Parnell to carry on her policies and fiscal reforms. She chose the latter and immediately after she stepped down, not one ethics complaint was filed again. Later.....one by one........ all ethics suits were dismissed as frivolous without merit and Alaska's state business under her policies continued without any more interruptions. Also Alaska closed the loophole and now the state will now pay for and defend governors from lawsuits like she faced. Oh and by the way, Governor Palin accomplished virtually 100% of her campaign agenda in two-thirds of the time she served. Next time tell the truth.

Changes to Alaska's ethics rules
On December 22, 2010, new rules governing Alaska executive branch ethics, stemming from Sarah Palin's tenure as governor, took effect:[29]
"These include allowing for the state to pay legal costs for officials cleared of ethics violations; allowing for a family member of the governor or lieutenant governor to travel at state cost in certain circumstances and allowing an immediate family member to use an official's state-issued cell phone or BlackBerry if the usage is limited or under monthly or unlimited plans."[29]
The Alaska attorney general clarified several ethics rules, including those related to family travel.
If it didn't cost her, why did the state change the rules for future govs?
She had to in order to keep the family from going into personal bankruptcy defending herself from frivolous lawsuits. I think anyone would have facing the same situation. Would you have done it or would you just have sat back and let other people financially ruin you with bogus lawsuits? Be honest.
Here's a little something that you might consider pondering. Palin had already made a name for herself with a lot of gullible fans. She could have moderated and been selective in accepting speaking engagements, book deals, interviews, etc. There would have been more than enough funds to pay the bills and then some, while still honoring her duties as Governors. But her lust for money and notoriety trumped that responsibility. She could not even give a coherent departure/resignation speech because her focus was on reality show stardom and whatever other venue that would enable her to dupe her loyal hoodwinked fans.
