Thank you for putting all of this into perspective. I think it this in terms of "if I was living back then". Being a Black male, I know that if I was alive during anytime before the 1960s, my rights would have been alot less than they are now. When I think about the rights I have now, and the rights I wouldn't have had a long time ago, I'm glad I live now instead of back then. There was a time in American history when Blacks couldn't even possess anything that even looked like a weapon, such as a club, or a gun. At one time in this nation, Blacks and women couldn't vote. We can all vote, own a gun, and do whatever the Constitution says we can do.

And we need to keep it that way.

I personally do not feel any less free today, than I did 30 years ago.

As very well it should. You and I have the same rights, and they are in the Constitution. It should stay that way.

I wasn't even born 30 years ago. I turn 27 in April. I don't feel any less free.

Nope it's true, same goes with British, French, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese arrival, we generally enjoyed more freedom over here before y'all came along, and you can thank Haudenosaunee for teaching USA how democracy works even though they screwed with it

You can't blame me. My ancestors didn't come here by choice.

Sure I can. Given that as your criteria for blame, and assuming you are saying your ancestors were slaves, then they were freed between 1862 and 1865 while the Indian Wars continued well past that point. After the Civil War, blacks voluntarily and actively participated in oppressing Native Americans. There were several black cavalry regiments serving in the Indian Wars.
