No, I am referring to your claim that gays don't recruit.

I served 1 year, 4 months at Moffett Field NAS ( 38 miles south of San Francisco)

Nearly every weekend there would be a few 18 year old sailors who were walking alone the mile back to base.
They would be all excited because some " nice guy " in his 30's , driving a new sporty car, offered a ride back to base, gave them his telephone number and urged them to call next weekend to get picked up at the base, taken to San Francisco, sleep at this guy's apartment and he would pick up the tab for the entire weekend -------meals,sight seeing etc

We laughed at those naive sailors and said that was a San Francisco q,u,e,e,r that was trying to hustle them.

They insisted he was just a nice, caring ,guy who wanted to be friendly.
After a few minutes of thought, they threw the telephone number away.

Yup, San Francisco's "finest" out recruiting !

Ooooh.....now I get it!

You're jealous! This is all about sour grapes at your not being the one "hustled!"

And, besides, IF the story is true (which I kinda' doubt), it sounds like it happened one time.

And, IF it did? So what? Men have tried to pick up women (and vice versa) since time began! So what if some gay guy thought he might get lucky? Did he hurt them? Did he try to force himself on anybody?

IF it happened - no harm, no foul.

You are really just a typical old gay hater who I suspect has some feelings of, for lack of a better word, confusion about his own sexuality.

Admit it. You'll feel better.

Did any of them become "rear" admirals?

Your story happens daily to women. Are guys who hit on women recruiting them to be straight?

I get hit on often by gay men. I just politely decline and move on. No big deal.

They probably experimented in college and now have to make sure noone would suspect them...then they sit at home at night googling for gay porn. LOL

They just hide behind the "traditional marriages" BS because they know they don't have any good reason for being against it...except if they just enjoy discriminating where they can...gay, color, fat, glasses...what ever floats their boat.

Yeah, it would be pretty hilarious to see their browser history! My guess is that most of them are "butthurt" because they made a pass at a gay person and were rejected.

It is often said by sociologists and people in mental health that the two biggest hangups we have in our society is the inability of us (mostly males) to deal honestly with our own sexuality and our own spirituality.

Some of them almost stroke out over their hatred of gays - totally irrational and borderline psychotic. It isn't a huge leap to suspect there are some underlying psychological issues going on.

You aren't describing "recruitment," you are describing a man flirting... and if that is your definition, men are recruiting me into the heterosexual lifestyle quite regularly!

I mean, how else is somebody supposed to get a date without asking? It's not like you wear a sign stating your orientation (do you?), so if they're interested they will flirt and see if their "intended" responds - just as straight people do every friggin' day of the year. Do you consider bar pickups between a man & woman "recruitment?" Btw, it's not surprising they would cruise where sailors hang out... my gay male friends have a BLAST during Fleet Week, and one said that's when he sees the most action all year.

Bottom line, if you and your buddies weren't interested, you could say "no thanks" or hang with them as a platonic thing. I go out with my friends quite often, and easily manage to keep from having sex with them. So I'll say it again, if someone is that easily swayed into having homosexual relations, they are already gay or bi. End of story.

My father was gay, and for years I was a: in the USNR during "don't ask, don't tell" and b: had several gay women working for me. In fact I went to gay bars quite often, with people I were friends with.

I don't recall a single time when anyone tried to "recruit" me.

Anyway, women deal with what you're talking about ALL the time. Like, on a daily basis. Does that mean straight men are trying to "recruit" women?
