I'm trying to understand the double standard. Neo Progs detest cigarettes (rightfully so) but think pot smoking is the coolest, trendiest, hippest thing ever. They're both carcinogens, stink like crazy and are terrible for your body, yet leftists are staunch advocates for recreational pot everywhere and staunch advocates against cigarettes everywhere. So please, help me understand the disconnect. Thanks
I don't know if the premise is true, since its not just liberals who are pro-pot. Many conservatives are ok with it, and independents of course. Most people agree that cigarettes are a nasty and harmful habit, since people inhale 20-40 cigs per day.
Because cigarettes are made out of rat poison, arsenic, tar, butane, lead, etc. Marijuana is just a plant that grows from the earth. Major difference. It does not take rocket science to figure out the answer to that. Also it's not just liberals who support weed.
I partake in neither, but: Cigarette smokers tend(ed) to indulge 10-20 times a day, pot smokers don't.
Also, I think you may be presenting a bit of a strawman with the "staunch advocates for recreational pot everywhere", I haven't encountered that - there's staunch advocacy for "shouldn't be thrown in jail for lighting up in one's own home", which is fine by me.
Anyway, you're behind the times - vapes and edibles are the 21st century delivery systems, joints were how granny got high.

They do? Most smokers that I know are "casual" smokers, i.e when they drink and go clubbing. There's like 3 people at my job to smoke, and during the 8 hours that they're there, they go out maybe 3-4 times, not 10-29.
Not everyone who uses pot smokes it. Edibles are big and getting bigger all the time. Topicals are also useful, I use a CBD salve topically for back pain daily no THC. I know a lady that gives her child CBD oil, again no THC, for seizures.
Yes, I know and agree, that why I was very specific about pot smoking.
Hey everyone, don't bother with this thread. I just found another thread created by the same poster, asking the exact same question, from 2013. It has 445 replies.
Obviously, this poster is purely political and has no desire to find an answer.
I suspect people will be growing it in their houses, if the standard limits keep applying... way easier to grow your own pot than your own tobacco.
I have no doubt that pot will become a problem just like cigarettes, though.
Honest question, if they grow it in their house, would you assume that they may "sample" their product? The reason that I ask is that many places are now debating about making it illegal to smoke in your home if you have kids. So how would that work with pot and kids in your home? Thanks
I challenge you to produce even ONE documented case of cancer caused by marijuana.

The absence of evidence is not proof of marijuana safeness, even more so, since no long-term studies have been conducted.
