Well, you have to tell the difference between a quarter and a nickel. Oh wait, machines can do that.

If you had experience in retail, you would probably know that the primary variable in earning a higher wage in any corporate stores is not "working harder."

I will cut you some slack for having had to work at Best Buy. God almighty.

I have no sympathy for her. She could easily get a better job by applying herself. Even working harder at her current job to get a promotion.
this ^^^ sounds amazingly naive. You've never worked anywhere that workplace politics played a huge role in who gets promotions, raises, etc., etc. What if the woman has missing teeth and can't afford to get them fixed? Do you think she'll be top on the list for getting a new job? You all seem to live in some sort of bubble where "merit" is the only thing considered in hiring. Also, how does this woman get a higher education or new skills training if she doesn't have the money to pay for it? Did you go to college for free? Did you have to help support an extended family while you were in college?

Really? The job is demanding? If it was soooo dams don't they would have to pay more than minimum wage to get someone to do it.

In other words, they must deal with numbers in the same way as 99% of Americans who work jobs that deal with adding and subtracting. Groundbreaking stuff on the C-D forum tonight.

If they do form a union, they will fit in quite well with their fellow degenerate parasites.

$15 an hour for fast food work??......lol lol lol lol

Because in NYC workers are a dime a dozen.
More workers than jobs means they can offer min wage and have a line around the corner of applicants.

NY's labor market doesn't demand the fast food worker to make $15/hr. Other labor markets do pay fast food workers $15-$18/hr, but not in NY.

Bascailly all that will mean is more automation coming and less of thsi work avialble. The market actasully set the rpice and people are not goig to pay higher rpices for fast food to the degreee needed to support that raise.
