Obama is stiffing everyone. If you can't see that by now you are really in sad shape.

It's no wonder you are in the plight you are in!

Please expand on your statement. Is my claim false or incorrect? Are people who saved for retirement generally not enjoying cost-free consumption?

Yes, the right-wing extremists who whine, non-stop, about the President not offering proposals ... whine yet again when he does offer proposals which the GOP first suggested. Proposals which the GOP will, as it continues to attack our national values, obstruct. But these are proposals, and the lie that the President is cutting Social Security benefits is still a lie. Told by liars.

But homeowners are probably staying ahead of inflation when Obama is done with their Social Security check; it's the renters (who have to pay for 100% of their consumption) who are getting hosed.

If you're paying for only 50% of your consumption and COLA is reduced by 25% you are still ahead of where you were the previous year.

Obama knows damn well the republicans said no to a second round of higher taxes. He knows they will not go for it so now he can say hey I tried but they turned it down.

Think gomexico, think. I would have thought you had more street smarts than this.

freemkt, as long as your idiot president keeps trying to increase taxes, as long as you idiots who think he is doing the right thing, then you are going to get hosed. Enjoy the hosing.

Own home + no mortgage = cost-free housing consumption.

Think of it as housing inflation = zero; non-housing inflation = CPI; combine these two to get your personal inflation.

If the chained CPI COLA is greater than YOUR personal inflation, you are ahead of where you were last year.

That is exactly what SS will morph into here soon. Only way it can survive. Means tested. You got enough to retire on you get nothing!

They best raise the FICA tax too or it won't matter. The yutes are too busy whining and don't want to pay their fair share like those evil boomers though.
