The left uses the same argument against guns, but not against immigrants. If a gun ban will save just one life, if a magazine ban will save just one life, then ban them. Well if by banning immigration it saves one life then why not stop it?
What you're saying is, if we had universal in-depth background checks on 100% of all immigrants and prospective gun owners, we could avert a lot of crimes.

Background checks do not infringe on any rights, period. They are necessary and should be a normal part of life in America, just like they already are for any professional license.

We are not a dictatorship, we are a Constitutional Republic. It doesn't matter if the President and 99% of the people want it, the Constitution should protect the 1% minority. Democracy is three wolfs and a sheep discussing dinner.

they and CO are slowly destroying the 2nd amendment every chance they get.

Illegal immigrants and high capacity magazines both make a lot of money for a few investors. There is no worry that either will ever be banned.

Supposedly.
And obviously it's about as effective as background checks would be for gun purchases
(I am not just talking about this one incidence)

Its estimated you pay about 20% less at the grocery store because of those illegal aliens picking food.

That benefits everyone, not a small entrenched wealthy group.

Many of the farmers I know couldn't run their farm without them.

I wonder how that 20% estimate measures up against increased tax payments (revenue needs or shortfalls)to cover all the extra unemployment and welfare benefits paid out to non-working citizens

Really? I think if we are going to compare it, we should do it right. We have millions of illegal immigrants in this country, all desperate individuals, capable of terrible things. A gun, by definition doesn't hurt anyone without a person behind it. We sale hundreds of thousands of guns illegally without background check every month. But it only takes one person buying lots of guns.

I'd say that the background checks work most of the time. I think we should document every worker in this country, I think we should have a background check for each of them, and background checks for every gun sale.

They do work, most of the time. An old saying comes to mind. Don't let the perfect get in the way of the good. You can spend your life looking for a perfect apple and starve, or eat a few with a blemish, and have a full belly

20% of the entire food production cost to every consumer of 300 million peoe?

You save far more from illegal immigrants then you pay.
