As for the new testament, didn't Peter take out a husband and wife for holding out some money they had from selling their land? Acts 5:1-11

Waht do you mean, "took them out" If he excommunicated them they were cheating and stealing. It's a good idea to read the whole paragraph and not just a sentence here and there.

Heck, there is more cruel and unusual punishment with governments that have no religion at all.

No. The reason to keep religion out of government is just common sense. Especially in a nation that is for diversity.

I believe, wholeheartedly, that proselytizing should bring nothing less.

WOW, now we are certain where you stand on freedom of religion and it isn't good.

I agree, now to keep government out of religion. We have separation but it is getting smaller and smaller with government telling religion what to do and where to do it.

Can you give some examples? I haven't seen the government denying religious activities on private property and telling them what they can and cannot do.

I suppose that's an example of choosing the greater good. Similar to how the government also doesn't allow a religious society to stone an adulterer to death.

That isn't done by any religion now except for the Muslims.
