You were beaten down though because the USA is not a theocracy -- never was.
Actually, that post I reference was not made on this particular website, so either your memory is faulty or you are talking out of the hole in your nether region. Would you like to guess what the oddsmakers are saying about it?
Oh this gets better. So apparently neither one of these people ever worked here yet get food stamps and want medicaid. Ugh, then people wonder why so many want closed borders.
I feel sorry for the poor but would prefer helping Americans over immigrants.
My mother has worked in retail during Christmas and Holiday season only for 3 seasons during October - January, and nobody hires her as part or full-time. So she payed some income tax.
My father has never worked due to being disabled even prior to cancer. He stopped working 10 years ago. They are US citizens.
Minds will wander. The point is her Dad has cancer and may die if not taken care of. I can't imagine that happening here in Toronto...We would not be running around in a panic seeking treatment. You would simply go to the doctor who would check you into a hospital and take care of you........What is so evil about that?
Medicine should not be controlled by private insurance companies who seek profit though selling insurance to people who they HOPE will never need it.
Maybe the OP's parents should move to Canada, it's not that far away. Problem solved.
Some of you are telling me that my parents could buy health care plan - how could they possibly afford that with combined income of $1K? Their monthly rent is $800 + electricity, and barely have any dollars left. Thank God they receive food stamp, otherwise they would eat noodles only and basically starve. Hopefully they do not cut that out either
You have to make up your mind about what you are complaining about. They have healthcare available in Europe, but you want them to stay in the US. If they stay in the US then they have to get on one of the public options available or buy private insurance. Private is going to give them the best treatment, but won't be free.

He gets a pension from Europe. He never payed into the system.
So you are saying your parents were not smart enough to save and plan and now become a drain on the government. Go back were you came from and let your country take care of them.
They took care of you for the first 18 years or so time for you to step up to the plate.
Yes, the smart thing to do is go back home where he gets "free" healthcare. If it was my father that is what I would do. My father's life would be much more important than my political agenda. If you have cancer going to a country where you can get treatment is a no-brainer.
Send Dad home now. Cancer needs immediate treatment.

Well you were beaten down on the other website then because it's a lame argument you have for socialism -- Jesus was not a political leader and the USA is not a theocracy.
Who you really need to be quoting is Karl Marx. Jesus even said his father's kingdom was not on this earth.

May I ask you a question? When you concocted that story, did you imagine that no one would be skeptical? BTW, how old were you at the time that you burst into tears at the thought of your family accepting charity?

Why yes, yes they would. Would you care to tell me how that at all supports the idea that his parents aren't "contributing to the system?"
The discussion is federal government picking up the tab, not the states..
