Yes, we know a "good" program to you is getting a house, car, cable, Internet, $50 / day food allowance for nothing as long as someone else works for it.

In NJ, you can get $102M by moving your company a few miles down the road. Nice payout, without even needing to create one new job.

Do tell us where I said that. All I ask is that government not interfere with the right of a willing property owner to sell me a house I can afford. Is something wrong with that?

Colorado has a program to help old people aged 60+ who do not qualify for social security payments and have no other source of income. The lucky "Old Age Pension" winner gets up to $699/month. Blood suckers! Oh - and little kids can qualify for half a pint of milk a day, turning them into government moochers at an early age.

Colorado is not a very generous state. TABOR forces the Legislature to squeeze every penny to the last drop and Coloradans who become disabled or find themselves members of a low income, single parent family are encouraged to drive over into neighboring Utah and die there quietly, saving the State of Colorado on burial costs. It's the Republican Way. Just ask Rand Paul.

Default Come To Visconsin, Where Corporate Welfare Is King!

Quote:
In this session of the Legislature there will at least eight bills introduced that tout job growth and economic development. If they pass, they will do nothing but add to the 90 programs that Wisconsin already has to give subsidies to businesses.

A look at Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. data, provided under Act 125, will reveal we are a state on steroids, giving costly economic development subsidies to many companies. There are 903 entries for 2012 and 913 for 2011. They include: Mercury Marine, $65 million; Kohl’s Department Store, $62.5 million; Quad Graphics, $46 million; Oshkosh Corp., $46 million; W. Solar Group, $28 million; Kestrel Aircraft, $28 million; and 1,810 more. There are also 1,100 TIF districts in Wisconsin that are siphoning off our property taxes.

At this point there has basically been no tracking of results from these subsidies that show any benefits to the taxpayers who pay for them. There is not enough transparency or accountability on these programs, even though state law requires it. WEDC has fumbled in its accounting for multiple companies and has lost track of millions of dollars in loans. We also have eight other state agencies in the business of giving away taxpayer money and they too are failing to document any benefits.

Hmmm...become a farmer or a corporation or a bank. The states and fed government will be giving you all kinds of handouts!!

Otherwise, get to close to homelessness. Run out of food. Have a part time job that will not pay your basic bills or no job at all. Sell or lose all your assets that you own. Find out first hand how awesome and lovely poverty is. Then you can find your ass a bus and locate the welfare office. Stand in line for a few hours. Fill out tons of paperwork about every aspect of your life. Get copies of pretty much everything about you to show them. Then sit with a social worker as they ask you humiliating questions in a darkly lit, creepy, smelly room.

Then you may get a few hundred dollars a month in food stamps, but you'll have to go another 2-4 weeks without any food before you'll get your card in the mail. If you're lucky, you might live in a town with soup kitchens or food pantries. Otherwise, try dumpster diving. If you live in an upscale neighborhood, you might have some luck. Otherwise...well...I hope you have some fat stored up on your body.

When you get your food stamp card, be prepared for everyone to look at everything you buy with them and assume you are abusing the system or unworthy if you buy anything that isn't disgusting. Keep in mind that you will be pretty darn hungry by this time, so all the yummy, fat, unhealthy food in the grocery store, that all the middle and upper middle class people don't pass up, will look very tempting to you!!

If you have kids, you might get some help with housing, but you'll have to wait in line for many months or years while you are in poverty before that happens. Then you'll officially live in what people so endearingly call, "the projects." You will have a small apartment that will likely be infested with pests. Anyone who knows your address or comes to visit you will know the truth: that you are one of the worthless scum who lives off the government's teat. So keep that in mind while you're living it up in that gorgeous apartment of yours!!

You might get some medicaid too, but be prepared for doctors and other health care professionals to judge every aspect of your appearance, what you drive, how you act, how early or late you show up, and then give you sub par service.

If you have kids, you may also get TANF. If you are single with one kid, you can get about $300 a month!! Free money!! Except, wait. You will have to volunteer 20-40 hours a week for that $300. Which is way less than minimum wage. But it's free money, right!? Everyone should be lining up for this sh*t!!

Then be prepared to go through this whole process again about every three to six months and be prepared to lose everything you got over the smallest paperwork mistake or a lazy social worker. It's the best life ever, so enjoy it while you can!!

What's the point of this thread? I'm reading through the responses, and it's a bunch of conservatives saying they don't qualify for welfare programs. Doesn't that debunk the talking point about how everyone and their mother can just get on welfare and buy a big screen tv?

The one I pointed would require a substantial investment.
