I didn't realize fans of Levin, Limbaugh, or Hannity were big on reading, I thought most of their propaganda was received via tv or radio.

Megadittos to you. Thank you for resisting the ******* propaganda from the Obamatards. Fascist Socialism sucks, long live freedom.
Thanks for the laugh this early on Sunday morning!
If he wasn't reading it aloud no it wasn't controversial. Facism.
Untrue on both counts. He's a senior NCO (he's an E8 which is 7 ranks higher than a private and there's only one above that). He is suppose to set the rhythm of his troops and be an example for those under him. But that's probably the problem. He's been blowing his own horn (or whatever) and not doing any leading. Or was he also drilling the band on the pavement too? If so then he should really be nailed. If not then just nailed really hard.
As far as the bumper stickers go, try working at Microsoft with a bumper sticker being snarky about Bill Gates or Steve Balmer. You'll get an escort to your car with a box of your crap to go with you.
Try it with your boss.
That's plain insubordination. Even if what you think is correct, acting that way to your supervisor when you are a supervisor is asking for it.
He should have retired earlier and now he's waking up to that. He got cocky and now he needs a lawyer to rile up the press in order to get it backpedaled because he can't do it on his own. Guess what? It ain't gonna work.
As far as the book goes, reading anything political or even controversial in nature while in uniform when you can be observed by others (and especially Jr. NCOs and non NCO elisteds) you are breaking military bearing.
BUT all of what I said above is only possible explanations IF what he is saying is true to begin with.
This isn't about beliefs it's about acting like a soldier.

The military code of conduct ALLOWS political bumper stickers on PRIVATE VEHICLES.
seeing as Obama doesn't give orders to soldiers, what makes you think he did?
OK, I don't know which way you are swinging here. You could mean, since he doesn't give orders to soldiers he wouldn't give orders against this guy. Or you could mean it sarcastically.
If I were the sgt I'd be kind of careful. Play around with this and he could easily find himself demoted.
Too late. Calling the press is not a good way to retreat in to the shadows.
