So let's allow for the highly highly absurdist idea that somehow Obama took every single gun away from every single American. So you're saying that the Entire Military won't have a say as to China's "carte blanche"? That this would devolve somehow magically into an invasion that would only be hampered by personal ownership of guns seems like a huge huge huge leap in assuming the military isn't doing anything

Christ I'd have to believe even Obama would have his finger on the button and telling the Chinese to get the Hell out of our hemisphere, otherwise KA-BLOOEY!!!!!! Yeah, China has nukes too, but nowhere near the size of our arsenal!
your first assumption is that china and mexico would be allies, thus allowing china to move through mexican territory. if mexico remains neutral, or allies with the US, they become a buffer zone between the chinese in panama, and the US southern border, and that means that the chinese army will have to fight their way through mexico, forcing mexico to ally with us in the end. so that wont happen. second even if it did happen, the supply lines for the chinese army would be extremely long, and thus quite vulnerable to being cut. and china does not have the mobility that the US military does, in fact NO country has the mobility capability that the US does, so that also hampers the chinese effort. in the end, china going through mexico to get to the US is a poor idea even if mexico is on their side.
The cartels control the border and highways to it, the cartels don't care how many Americans get killed. The money is all they care about.
I've always been of the belief that we will destroy ourselves from within, as opposed to being invaded by a foreign country.
Like Rome, it could be a combination of both: divsions from within the country that makes a weak and Visogoths from outside the country taking advantage of our weakened state
