The rebate TOTAL (i.e. how much the company is sending EVERYONE) is based upon how much the insurance company spends on services, but that's not whats being discussed, the discussion is how much of that TOTAL the insurance company is reimbursing is YOUR share...
Of course that's what's being discussed. The amount an individual would receive is based on a formula that includes how much below 80% the insurance companies expenditures are for services, the overall cost of your premium, and how much you contribute to the premium vs. your employer.

Yes.. so its beyond stupid to jump for joy over $100 if the total cost has increased $1975..
That's like buying a $50K car and then getting the $1000 rebate, and not understanding the rebate is built into the price of the car..
Yeah, its dumb, but clearly a lot of people do it.
I haven't had that type of insurance in 13 years.. So I guess according to you, I should be very upset I saved about $150,000 +..
Lets do the math now shall we? I've got catastrophic insurance which kicks in at $100K, I've got the $150K in savings that I didn't spend on insurance over the 13 years, I've got investment income, from that $150K I invested and didn't spend, and you guys have $100 rebate.
And you think I'm the one upset?
And now you are objecting to paying normal health insurance. I thought it was some high rebate product because of all your complaining.

I'm pointing out how dumb it is to celebrate a $100 rebate if the cost increased $1975 a year.. You reading more into it than what it is, isn't my problem.
Yeah, the flaw was thinking Democrats were smart enough to understand that questions don't end until you hit the question mark.. You're correct, I should never underestimate the stupidity of Democrats...
So you think republicans are smarter than democrats? I'd love to hear you elaborate on the reasons why.

Republicans didn't support the scam of a program that increased the cost of policies by $1975 a year while then celebrating a $100 rebate.. yes, I'd call that pretty dumb to vote for it, and even dumber if you cant comprehend that you'd need to be overcharged to begin with in order to get the check..

The refund has absolutely nothing to do with price increases--it's based on what percentage of your premium your company actually spends on services. If companies have to pay refunds if they're not spending the premiums on actually providing health care, then it's a pretty strong incentive for them to lower premiums or provide better services.
Insurance premiums have been going up annually for the last decade--they're out of control. Obamacare's healthcare exchange program doesn't even kick in until this fall, so if you want to whine and complain about rising premiums, lets see what happens after it's in effect first, shall we? If the market is more competitive, premiums should start going down.

yaaa for being overcharged I guess.. weird.
Except that very few are in your special category. The median household income in the US is around $50k. Very few can afford to invest $15000 for that purpose each year.

Oh please, we've been bombarded with non stop postings about how Obamacare is cutting premiums and Obama himself said the costs would drop 3,000%..
Please share with me what parts of Obamacare is expected to cut costs.. I love all of this "wait and see", attitude because we've been told that for 3 years now..
How long do you expect people to wait?
