Yes, you can pick your time frame to show we are warming or cooling. Or change the raw data to show whatever you choose. Mann has shown us how to do that. He is the ultimate hoax perpetrator.

Nah son, you don't understand. The public research (university and military) and private research will keep spending money in understanding this planet's climate, it's sort of important to our entire human civilization (not just the USA).
I'm not really concerned about something that might happen 300 years in the future. We have more pressing problems.
You obviously have no clue how energy prices work. The only reason unconventional oil and gas is popular right now is because the prices will support it. It will get slightly more expensive as we get more "unconventional".
That doesn't make any sense. Resources are not unlimited. So what's the case for using them as if they were?
The fossil fuel supply in general here in the US is enormous, especially coal. The resources available here will far outweigh the demand over the coming centuries. Keep that in mind when you hear other countries pushing for carbon caps, ultimately they really don't have much choice becsue they don't have the resources. As I've already mentioned this presents a huge economic threat to every industrialized nation with the exception of perhaps Russia.
