Seriously though if what you say is true then that is all the more reason to try and help these children yet you are all for the government saying nope no help for you kid. You are gay end of story. Don't like it don't ask for help, just deal with it.
You make no sense here. Reparative therapy for minors is banned. It doesn't work and its harmful to them. Counseling a kid about his/her orientation and how to cope with being different is not the same as trying to change his/her sexual orientation.

But its OK to encourage kids to be gay. Libs been doing that for some time now.

Harmful according to who? Christie? I doubt if he even read the report he based his decision off. They actually based their conclusions off studies done in the seventies. I guess that is all they could find that would jibe with them. lol

" The few high-quality studies of SOCE conducted from 1999 to 2004 are qualitative (e.g.,
Beckstead & Morrow, 2004; Ponticelli, 1999; Wolkomir,
2001) and these, due to the research questions explored,
aid in understanding the population that seeks sexual
orientation change but do not provide the kind of
information needed for definitive answers to questions
of the safety and efficacy of SOCE.
Thus, we concluded that the early evidence, though
extremely limited, is the best basis for predicting what
would be the outcome of psychological interventions.
Scientifically rigorous older work in this area (e.g., Birk
et al., 1971; S. James, 1978; McConaghy, 1969, 1976;
McConaghy et al., 1973; Tanner, 1974, 1975) shows that
enduring change to an individual’s sexual orientation
is uncommon and
that a very small
number of people
in these studies
show any credible
evidence of reduced
same-sex sexual
attraction"

So instead of actually studying it first they discount the most recent studies they don't like and come up with a conclusion based on some studies from 40 years ago and Christie signs away to get votes.

Huh? You are either willfully ignorant or very misinformed.

How do you encourage someone to be gay? You're either gay, or you're not. (Excluding the other identities for arguments sake here)

Clearly these two posters are arguing from a fantasy world in order to support their own biases, so I've put them to ignore. Some people are so far gone in Ignoranceville there is no amount of reasoning with them.
