If you make too much to get any help for premiums, then you make over $80k. How about backing up and getting your story straight or perhaps look into what the ACA is.

I wonder if Ted Cruz will sign up. As a member of Congress he is required to get his insurance via the exchanges.

I oppose this law, so therefore I am in obstruction of this law and I don't want to work any more and give the man my money. It doesn't get any more irresponsible than that.

Nope, didn't miss understand it at all.

No he isn't. He is only required to have health insurance.

We are paying for it out of the penalty tax in our IRS returns, or we purchase a health insurance policy from XYZ health care insurance company.

No one is exempt.

PS: If he finds himself in the position of being uninsured, then as an individual he must resolve that issue or pay the fine at the end of the year.

I have excellent insurance through work, but it still costs me about $1300 per year out of my pocket. So I'm opting out this year and paying the penalty and will continue to do so as long as the penalty stays below a grand. Several of my co-workers in my age group are doing the same. It blows my mind why any healthy young person would not just pay the penalty.
