Why not change the Redskins name? They could easily be the Warriors and it would be the end of the story. In a way I don't think they should change but if Warrior is acceptable to the local tribes then change it. I think the Redskins are fighting a losing battle. There are lots of good names out there just change it and move on...seriously.
Does President Obama think that the Minnesota Vikings should change their name?
How about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish?
The Boston Celtics?
If your team is named after white people then it is OK.
Not the same, what if a NFL team moved to LA named the "LA, White Crackers", "LA, Black Monkeys", or "LA, Wet Backs", all those names would be obviously offensive to a race. Does Harrier not understand? I think Harried understands, but I can agree with Harrier if Harrier were to say there are bigger problems to worry about, right Harrier?
I just went through all the other posts on this topic and you know what?? There really are a bunch of morons on this forum. My guess is most of them were born under a rock or born before 1946 or live out in the sticks and have never lived near a city. How else do you explain the posts? You have to be from one of the three areas.
The "Redskins" were originally the "Braves." But the team owner changed the name to honor the coach who was [Indian / Native American / Aboriginal / NDN]. I guess someone thought the team name "Redskins" was an honor to his ethnic background.

Any name would be acceptable if it meant the return of professional football to Los Angeles.
If he DIDN'T comment, the hapless Pubs would complain about that.
I don't see why a GOP-induced Govt shutdown should prevent our incredible President from expressing his fine and superior judgment about this matter.
He's RIGHT as usual. The name is offensive to the great people that are the native Americans, so they should change the name.
