Insurance that is still in effect hasn't been cancelled yet. Extending those plans doesn't mean offering new ones that do or don't comply with the ACA.
MSNBC right now:
Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd are openly calling out Obama for trying to put the blame on the insurance companies and explaining that the insurance companies likely cannot even offer these plans anymore

Why would they not be able to offer the no insurance-insurance plans for another year?
Obama, Reid, Pelosi and other democrats created a real mess!
They all need to be removed from office. It is abundantly clear under the leadership of Reid , Pelosi, Obama and yes we must include Bohner this Government has failed America.

So... what happens when Obama's temporary one year reprieve ends? Same problem all over again for society's contributing class: higher deductibles, higher premiums, narrower doctor and hospital access. Then what?
Also, I'd wager his primary motivation here is to now be able to blame the insurance companies instead of taking the heat himself.
Obamas main goal is to gain the house in 2014 but the obamacare disaster hurt democrats. If it didn't hurt them does anyone believe Obama would have said this? After all, Obama and democrats are on record as saying its only 5% in an attempt to keep the mandate. It's all political.
Don't forget employer based plans will also be terminated. Letters will go out starting September and October.
Ah... there's the problem. Obama and his Admin knew way back in 2010 that under Obamacare rules and regulations, nearly 100 million people would lose their insurance plans and/or their doctors. The projections were published in the Federal Register.
1/3 of the U.S. population is not a relatively inconsequential number of people.
It was my understanding that about 4 million, the number of people with private insurance, was to be the number thought to be possibly affected.
Employer plans are not generally thought to be ones you do or do not chose to keep .
I'm not sure that the planners figured on so much of the eliminating of providers that the insurance companies would do.
You can persuade me otherwise ...believe me...I don't really care to defend this president about much of anything
I do not ever want to be thought of as one that just rants and raves and lies even worse than Obama to try to make a point.I try to see all sides.
But , to me, another proof of how little good thinking went into the ACA, is how much doctor owned hospitals profited and are profiting from the ACA when the intention was to curb them.
